From the Dumping Ground to Drag

Did you know your favourite childhood legend Tracy Beaker AKA Dani Harmer is a huge drag fan? Who could blame her? When we had Tracy herself Dani Harmer visit us at Glitterbomb you guys absolutely loved her! We wanted to know everything about her love of drag to what song she would lip sync for her life too and if she would be appearing as a guest judge for RuPaul’s Drag Race UK?

Where did your love of drag come from? 

I’m pretty sure I was born with a love of drag! I love anything artistic and performance-based! And some of the worlds best performers are drag queens! 

Do you have a favourite season of RuPaul’s Drag Race? 

This is such a hard question for me!! I’ve loved every single series but I think series 2 was so enjoyable because of the whole ridiculous Heathers gang which made me laugh out loud! And watching how far Shangela has come is amazing! 

Do you have a favourite RuPaul Drag Queen?

I love Pearl!!! She will always be one of my all-time favourites! I loved her style and really enjoyed watching her grow as a performer! But Sasha Velour is my favourite winner!!! That lip sync still makes me cry and no queen will ever be able to top that moment! 

Have you been to many Drag shows If so what was your first one or favourite one? 

Yes, I’ve been to many a drag show and I love them every time! Whether it’s in a huge club or a tiny pub the talent is always wonderful! One of my first memories of drag was walking past the Admiral Duncan in London and seeing a queen twirling and singing and I just HAD to go inside!! Couldn’t help myself!! 

If you were to do drag What would be your drag name?

I can never think of a good one! I have tried many times so any suggestions welcome haha!! 

If you were to be competing on Drag Race what would be your dream song to lip-sync for your life?

My song of choice would be Bohemian Rhapsody because it’s my favourite song and I already know every word and I know it would be epic!! 

You are competing on RuPaul’s Drag Race. Who are you playing on snatch game and why?

Tracy Beaker duh 😉 

What is it about drag that you find so entertaining?

The costumes, makeup, wigs, comedy, singing, dancing! Pretty much everything! 

Would you consider appearing on RuPaul’s Drag Race UK as a guest judge? What sort of challenge would you want to judge? 

Yes, get me there immediately, please!! I don’t even care what challenge it would be! Just to be in the presence of Ru and Michelle would be enough for me! I could die happy! 

Season 12 of Drag Race has begun have you watched it have a current favourite queen or an idea of who you would want to win?

I think it too early to pick a winner but I am loving Jackie Cox and Jan! I think it’s going to be a really strong year and I can’t wait to see how this one turns out Henny!!
