SHARON NEEDLES IS COMING TO GLITTERBOMB!
RuPauls Drag Race Season 4 champion is coming to Glitterbomb! That’s right, we’re bringing drag superstar Sharon Needles to Cambridge (10th March), Surrey (14th March) and Canterbury (17th March) – and to celebrate we’re looking back at Sharon’s Top 4 Season moments!
Sharon made her mark on the drag race world from the very first episode, creating an apocalypse look the likes of which Drag Race had never seen before! Despite the outfit taking a lot of flack from the other girls in the work room, Sharon went on to win the challenge and showed everyone that when it came to sticking by her aesthetic, she hadn’t come to play!
Tired Ass Showgirl!
In a first for Drag Race, Sharon found herself in a season long feud with another queen, Phi Phi O’Hara. Their heated arguments kept viewers glued to their screens and ensured that Season 4 would go down in history as one of the shows most dramatic. “Tired ass showgirl!” and “Go back to party city where you belong!” have gone on to become memorable catchphrases of the show and, though the pair seemed to have resolved their differences since, their rivalry won’t be quickly forgotten by drag race fans!
The Bitch Ball
Whilst fans couldn’t get enough of Sharon’s alternative drag style, Michelle Visage just wanted a little glamour – and when Sharon delivered, she did it in style! Designing an outfit based on a dog breed was no easy task and it was touch and go and to whether Sharon’s fluff boots would come across well but not only did she deliver on the much anticipated glamour, she also went and won the challenge!
America’s Next Drag Superstar!
After a strong performance all season, and becoming the first contestant to get 4 challenge wins, Sharon went into the crowning as a firm fan favourite – and then went on to take the crown! A triumph for alternative styles of drag, Sharon’s win was a breath of fresh air for what had been a predominantly beauty orientated show until this point and her legacy lives on as a winner who always stayed true to her own style.
