Now that RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars 5 has come to an end, we take a look back at the series to dissect and discuss everything All-Stars 5!

We found out about the series back in 2019 and it was said to be “franchise’s most notable queens to prove to Mama Ru why they deserve the crown and a coveted spot in the “Drag Race Hall of Fame”. No promo looks were taken due to COVID-19 so the Queen’s entrance looks into the Werk room became the RuVeal. We got introduced to a new twist that the Top All-Star of the week will lip-sync for her legacy against a Lip Sync Assassin.

Episode 1 featured each Queen as they walked into the werk room. The library was open for a reading challenge. Condragulations to Blair St. Clair and Jujubee who won the first Mini Challenge and India Ferrah who won the first maxi Challenge that involved the dolls each showing off a different talent to wow the judges in the Werq The World Variety Extravaganza Show. As India won it was she who had to lip-sync against Yvie Oddly winner of season 11 who was cast as the Lip-Sync Assassin to lip-sync “Livin La Vida Loca” by Ricky Martin resulting in Yvie Winning and Derick Barry sadly getting the chop and being the first to be eliminated.

The All-Stars had to form three competing girl-groups in episode 2, to create lyrics, choreography and perform the new pop anthem “I’m in Love!” with Guest judges Tessa Thompson and Madison Beer alongside Alyssa Edwards being cast as this week’s Lip Sync Assassin having to compete against Shea Couleé who won that week’s Maxi Challenge. Both Queens’s lip-synced to ”Neutron Dance” by The Pointer Sisters resulting in Shea winning and Ongina sashaying away leaving the message “I can’t wait for our friendships to blossom on the outside of this workroom! I love you! Ongina” written in red lipstick on the mirror.

Episode 3 we had a maxi challenge that fans had experienced before in the All-Stars 4 “Queens of Clubs” challenge in which the Queens had to design an exclusive nightclub party. This time the Queens must instead design their own boutique hotel suite experiences. RuPaul put each doll into groups to paint and decorate the suites. We had team India Ferrah, Jujubee, and Alexis Mateo who had a Jungle based hotel suite Glamazone. Shea, Miz Cracker, and Mariah created a Golden Gal’s Palace hotel room. But the winning team was Team Blair and Mayhem with hotel 24 Karat Experience. Even tho Blair and Mayhem have the best hotel experience, it is actually Jujubee who wins the top prize and has to lip-sync “Juice” by Lizzo and lose against lip-sync assassin All-Stars4 Monét X Change in-front of Guest judges Nicole Byer and design guru Martyn Lawrence Bullard with Mariah Paris Balenciaga’s name being the one printed on the elimination lipstick resulting in Mariah going home.

Episode 4 – The dolls had to pretend they were doing a TMZ news bulletin. The Queens must improvise a scene as celebrities caught in various scenarios by the drag network SheMZ. The Queens were grouped by Ru – Shea and Alexis; Blair, Jujubee, and Miz Cracker as team one with India and Mayhem making up team two. The runway theme was Camo Couture which featured Miz Cracker wearing an outfit that is loosely similar to the outfit that our own Queen DeDeLicious made and designed.

This week with Cracker snatching the win we go back on the main stage where Cracker has to lipsync “Where Have you Been” by Rihanna against the stunning Morgan McMichaels resulting in a double win and Mayhem Miller being eliminated leaving All-Stars with the message “I am the QUEEN!”.

The challenge that fans look forward to and the Queens are most scared of has arrived in episode 5. Its Snatch Game! We welcome back a different version this season called “Snatch Game Of Love”. The All-Stars gave us their best celebrity impressions for a dating show version of the Snatch Game. Blair St. Clair chose to impersonate Ellen Degeneres – she was not the strongest. Shea Couleé impersonated Flavor Flav a character easily recognizable and showing Shea as a very possible winner for this challenge. Jujubee has chosen Eartha Kitt who we have seen other queens do on the show before. Jujubee is funny from the start creating the now meme “I sensually walk over to the thermostat”. Next up is Cracker with her impersonation of Lady Gaga not having the judges going Gaga over but her version of Lady Gaga at the 2019 Golden Globes appearance deserves recognition.

We move onto Alexis who chooses Walter Mercado someone I don’t believe many people are familiar with but never the less Alexis was entertaining in this challenge and judges were impressed. Lastly, Jeffree Star was sat trying to snatch a date as India Ferrah tried her very best to impersonate the Youtube makeup superstar. Indiah flopped this challenge due to very few jokes and it ended with Indiah being eliminated by Shea Couleé lip-syncing “Open Your Heart” by Madonna against this week’s lip-sync assassin Vanessa Vanjie Mateo. Shea wins against Miss Vanjie giving Shea the opportunity to eliminate a Queen. India Ferrah sashays away (even though she tried to stay by telling Shea about how Alexis and Mayhem conspired to send Shea home). Alas, Indiah is the queen to leave.

In episode 6, the Queens joined RuPaul’s family for the Charles Backyard Ball in this summer-esq episode. The Queens are having to show off two outfits, one that was for the backyard ball that was inspired by a cousin of RuPaul and another outfit that the All-Stars had to create a garment made from materials that would be found in a backyard. Miz Cracker impressed the judges once again in this episode and had to lip-sync against this week’s lip-sync assassin Roxxxy Andrews to  “One Last Time” by Ariana Grande. Both Queens gave a great performance but as soon as Roxxxy took her red feathery coat off and showed the judges that bodysuit with “thick and juicy” on her behind, Roxxxy was crowned the winner of that lip-sync and also the Queen voted to get the chop. We say farewell to Alexis Mateo.

To be an All-Star, you have to be funny. So in episode 7, it was no surprise the dolls found themselves on the main stage in a comedy club. With Cracker choosing the order of when the Queens perform Jujubee was up first to attempt to make the judges laugh but was not the most successful, Blair again good attempt but came across as more mean than funny with her one-liners. Shea gave a great attempt but her look in the comedy club was what got more attention in what was a stunning outfit. In comparison to the other queens, Miz Cracker stepped up and stole the show. This week’s runway the Queens got a chance to get their freak on and impress the judges. Once again Cracker was named top all-star of the week who proceeded to lip-sync against the legendary Kennedy Davenport in a lip sync battle of Reba McEntire’s “Fancy.” Cracker won this lip-sync and also revealed who she chose to get the chop and unfortunately I do declare Its Blair St. Clair’s time to sashay away.

We have come to the final of the RuCaps of All-Stars 5. Jujubee, Shea Coulee, and Miz Cracker are the top All-Stars but before snatching the crown they had to write, record, and perform a verse of RuPaul’s new song “Clap Back.” And then strut down the runway in this week’s runway All-Star Eleganza. After the queens learnt and performed choreography from Todrick – the eliminated Queens then walking the runway. All three top queens lip sync for the crown to “Make Me Feel” by Janelle Monáe. After one last lip sync battle from all three, RuPaul announces that the next queen to be crowned and inserted into the Drag Race Hall of fame is none other than miss Shea Couleé.

So that’s All-Stars 5. Done. What do you think of the season? Let us know in the comments. Do you agree that Shea is the true winner? What was the best look of the season? We want to know every thought, feeling, and who you want to see for All-Stars 6!
